In the mid-1970's, a movement of the Holy Spirit swept through southern Minnesota. Many people were touched by God through various ministries: Lay Witness Renewal, Faith At Work, and the charismatic renewal. These all led to a number of families having the hunger to express their personal relationship with Jesus Christ through worship that was dynamic, uplifting and open to the gifts of the Spirit.
In 1979, conversations between this group (families and individuals) and the Evangelical Covenant Church led to the formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Fairmont on April 15, 1979. Thirty-three persons signed the original charter of membership.
Since 1979, this congregation has continually sought the Lord, in order to build one another up in the name of Jesus, and to reach out to others. Through a host of ministries, it has been a congregation which has bound up the wounds of the broken. We see our call through the power and work of Jesus, to give hope to the hopeless. Our church family has been and continues to be a place of strength and vitality. We are not just a gathering of people called church, we are a family of faith for all who seek God. We do not claim to have it all together, but all together we are working to grow in our faith.
We'd love to have you join us on the journey
